Chapter 33 -

After sitting and enjoying the atmosphere for some time, enjoying their fancy feast once it arrived as well,
Chris looked towards the dance floor and smiled, suddenly tapping his fist on his palm as an idea popped into
his head. "Say you two... Ever danced before?" he asked, the both of them facing his way with mouths full of
food, blinking confused. "Y... You know... Dance! Moving around to music... Get it?" he asked, slightly sweating
as the two faced one another and shook their heads before facing back at him with shrugs. "N... Never danced...?
Not even with other Pokemon or... Anything?" he asked wide eyed. Tilting their heads, they once again shrugged
and shook no in response. "G... Geez... Haven't you two ever done anything besides... Well... Fighting and...
Traveling? You know... Just... Had fun?" he asked, slumping in his chair as they thought in silence for a
moment. Kirlia spoke up and pointed at him with a smile, simply saying "love you!" in response as Servine
looked down in silence. "N... Not a proper response but... Thank you..." he laughed nervously, rubbing Kirlia
on the head while noticing Servines sudden... Lost... Expression. Thinking back, Chris didn't really consider
how they were treated in the past when he asked them about having fun, and with a slight gulp as he tugged
on his collar, he put his hand on Servines head. "H... Hey... I'm sorry about that..." he said, Servine looking
up and shaking her head, giving him a slight smile in response. Looking around, Chris suddenly smiled warmly
at the two and snapped his fingers. "Know what... I'm gonna teach you two how to dance and have some fun then!"
he grinned, the two jolting and waving their hands, simultaneously shaking their heads nervously. "Oh come on...
Don't be shy!" he laughed, patting them on the head as he glanced around.

"A... Ah!! Excuse me!!" he suddenly said aloud, putting up a hand. Walking up in response, one of the waitresses
bowed with a smile. "Yes sir...?" she asked, Chris blinking at her with a slight blush as she stood close to him.
"Ah... H... Hey there... Err... I have a bit of a request..." he told her, motioning for her to come closer. A
bit confused, the waitresses walked up to him, Chris pulling her near his face as he quietly spoke in her ear.
Seeing this, and in Kirlia's case, sensing, they both turned a furious red, looks of irritation on their faces as
Chris and the waitress stood so close and in such a suspicious way in front of them. "So... Do you people do that
here for guests or...?" he asked, the woman nodding in response. "Certainly! And considering what you've done for
the man who made this location possible, I'm sure the staff will have no problem granting such a simple request!"
she giggled, bowing and quickly walking off. "Alright... Well, that's tha..." he said with a pause, noticing the
expressions of fury and envy on the two Pokemon's faces. "H... Hey now... No need for that! Its a surprise, trust
me!" he laughed nervously, waving his hands as the two gave him "...uh huh..." expressions while crossing their
arms. "Attention honored guests!" they suddenly heard echo through the ballroom through the speakers, the three
jolting in response from the sudden surprise as Chris and Servine looked towards the stage below. "This evening
we have a special request from a special guest! We humbly ask Chris, and his two companions, Servine and Kirlia
to come onto the dance floor!" the waiter said into the mike.

"I... Didn't ask for that much..." Chris muttered, sweating nervously as the two faced him bewildered. "I... Its
nothing bad!" he told the two, waving his hands before standing and picking the two up. As he turned, a spotlight
suddenly flashed on over them, causing Chris to nearly drop the two as he and Servine let out a shout from the
sudden flash, Kirlia facing different directions in a slight bit of panic. "I... Its still nothing bad..." he
laughed nervously. Clutching onto him tightly as he made his way to the floor below, the crowd surrounding them
moved aside as he walked, countless people smiling and bowing towards them as he stopped at the center of the
floor, looking ahead at the stage. "On behalf of the Commorall Theater staff, we will be performing a beloved
classic for all of you here. Please, enjoy the show, savour the sound, and dance with that special someone to
your hearts content!" the waiter said, bowing as the lights suddenly dimmed and the curtain opened. "Oh geez...
I didn't know they would do this much..." Chris muttered, jolting as the floor beneath them slowly started to
glow white as music began to play. Upon hearing it, the entire crowd started to clap and cheer for a moment
before going silent, those surrounding the three beginning to slowly dance and sway with their partners. "Ahh...
S... Sudden..." Chris muttered, gulping and flushing brightly before taking the two over to a nearby table. "I...
Hoped for a moment to prepare before they started but... C... Come with me Servine..." he told her, asking Kirlia
to wait. "B... Be right back. You'll come with me next." he told the confused Pokemon, rubbing her on the head
before taking Servine back to the center of the dance floor. Looking up at him as the music played and a choir
joined the musicians on stage, Servine slightly blushed with a gulp, making a sound as if to say "Wh... what is
this...?" nervously.

"Alright... Just... Hold my hand..." he told her, holding Servine in one arm and gently taking her hand. "There...
Like that... And now..." he said, starting to sway and take steps to match the music and those around him. "See?
This... Is dancing... Its fun to do anytime but... Its even better when you can do it during moments like this...
And..." he told her, looking away with a nervous smile, blushing and scratching his cheek. "Even better still...
If you get to dance with someone really... Important to you." he told Servine, causing her face to glow ever
brighter as her heart started seemingly trying to beat its way out of her chest. Taking her hand again, he slowly
turned in a circle, swaying from side to side before tilting Servine back, gently lifting her back up against him.
"You've made me so proud of you. You've shown me courage I never thought I'd see... Overcoming something that had
terrified you so much... Growing so strong after you became so weak." he told her, making another circle before
stepping from side to side again. "You really are an inspiration. Every day that I've spent with you has been a
gift... I know how much this atmosphere suits you, you're right at home in a place like this... With people like
these... And its because you're a Pokemon who deserves nothing less than this kind of lifestyle." he told her,
making another circle before tilting her back again. "After what you've endured... And how far you've come so
quickly... You deserve a life full of all the riches in the world... A life that suits someone with your level of
class..." he said, lifting her back up against him as her wide eyes kept an intense focus on his face, her blush
constantly showing as she clutched her chest with her free hand, as if it was the only thing keeping her heart
from bursting out like a bullet.

"...I'm a simple guy though. Riches and luxury... Those are things I'm just not suited for... I don't have any
class really, and I'm nowhere near as dignified and refined as you and the people here... But..." he told her,
taking a few steps forward and back before suddenly holding her up in the air, making another circle before
bringing her back down against him. "Even so... I hope you feel being with me is awesome, because there aren't
many Pokemon in this whole world who I would feel so happy to be with." he said, looking towards Kirlia with a
smile. "Everything here... And all the money the old man left me... It doesn't mean anything to me compared to
you..." he said, looking back at Servine. "The only riches in life I've ever wanted..." he said, letting
out a groan as he felt a burning pain deep within his head suddenly, Servine blinking and calling out to him
nervously. "S... Sorry. Sudden headache... Maybe too much spicy food?" he laughed nervously, starting to sway
again. "I just want you to know... Having you by my side... And you being happy you're with me... That's all that
matters." he chuckled, suddenly rubbing his nose against Servines, the Pokemon's lips trembling as tears welled
up in her eyes. "H... Hey now... Whats with that?" he asked, blinking in surprise. Letting out sniffles and
whimpers, her tears started streaming all over her face as she jumped up at his neck, clutching it tightly as
she sobbed and shuddered from head to toe. "H... Ha ha... Did I say too much? I'm sorry..." he told her, patting
her on the back with a warm smile as she shook her head in response, burrying her face in his neck as the crowd
around them watched, many tearing up as they let out random and quiet "awws" and swooned as he continued to dance.

After a moment, he took Servine back to the table where Kirlia was, setting her down next to the still confused
Pokemon as she picked up on Servines roller coaster of emotions, hearing her crying and facing Chris with a
nervous and worried expression. Looking at Kirlia, Servine shook her head with a smile, communicating with her
for a moment to let her know the situation, wiping her tears away as Chris took Kirlia in his arms. "And now
its you and me!" he told her, smiling as Kirlia faced up at him and in Servines direction bewildered. Walking
back to his place on the floor, Chris looked back at Servine, giving her a smile and a wave before putting his
focus purely on Kirlia. "Alright... Now you get to learn how to dance!" he chuckled, holding her and taking her
hand in the same manner as Servine, starting his calm and gentle swaying once more. "Feel the movements...
Imagine the two of us connected... My movements are yours... Yours are mine... Picture the moment in your mind,
but don't force it... Slowly and naturally... Let the image flow." he told her, Kirlia nodding an gripping his
hand firmly, showing a bit of a confused look yet slightly blushing nonetheless, somehow... Feeling really good
by... Dancing... With him.

"You know... You're something else. Always getting so jealous over me. Always being so protective... At first
it was a little hard to handle... But you know, now I think its actually kinda nice. Its cute even." he chuckled,
Kirlia scowling as he called her out yet suddenly smiling from the cute statement. "I don't think I've ever had
someone care about me as much as you. Fighting people for my sake... Always being on guard and ready to step up
with your best foot forward whenever anything that could be bad comes my way... That's really honorable of you...
Its admirable." he told her, brushing her bangs before suddenly holding her back as he tilt her forward, causing her
to jolt and flail in panic. "No no... Stay calm... Its part of the dance. Feel the flow... Listen to the music..."
he reassured her, causing Kirlia to face up at him with another blush, clutching his arms as he pulled her back
up against him. "There... That's it... Just dancing." he said softly, rubbing the back of her head as she clutched
his chest, shuddering from his touch as her pulse began to quicken like Servines had moments before. "I can't tell you
how much I appreciate the way you've tolerated and accepted Servine as well... I know she can be a bit hard to live
with in your case... Given your differences and how you two tend to act like rivals... But because you accept her,
no matter her behavior... Its something that really shows how willing and committed you are to showing that, when
someone really needs a new lease on life most, you're willing to take the good and the bad in someone and help them
get the second chance they need..." he told her, looking towards Servine. "...And deserve. She still has a lot of
barriers around her but... I can tell she's warming up to you deep down. I know you two are going to be great friends
in the end..." he chuckled, looking back at Kirlia who was scowling once more. "...You've been a friend to me I never
could of dreamed of having. You saved me from prison even when nobody else believed me... When nobody would listen
to me... You were there to back me up." he said, lifting her in the air for a moment before pulling her back against
him. "I know this may sound weird... But... I really do think of you as a guardian angel... You're a hero for more
reasons than one to me Kirlia... There isn't another Pokemon in the world I can say that to!" he chuckled as she
opened her mouth, wanting to speak yet unable to let out a sound, instead showing a smile from ear to ear before
hiding her face shyly.

"Thanks for everything you've done for me... For saving me from prison... For helping get Servine back to health...
And for just being one of the greatest Pokemon ever in my heart." he grinned, Kirlia letting out a "blaaah!!" like
sound as she flushed enough to steam, holding her cheeks embarrassed as she continued to smile, letting out giggles
from all the praise. "I still don't think I deserve someone like you by my side... I could never do enough to feel
like I'm worth having so much affection from you... But... I guess I can still do my best to try, right?" he laughed,
rubbing her on the head and giving her a hug. "As long as you want to be with me, I'll do what I can to make sure
you're happy every step of the way." he told her, rubbing her cheek softly as the already overwhelemed Pokemon
began showing tiny tears in the corners of her eyes. Why... Why couldn't he think more highly of himself...? Why
couldn't he see and understand... He was the one they owed so much to...? Shaking her head and wiping away her tears,
Kirlia climbed up and gave him a hug around his neck, telling him "love you" as she held him tighter. "Ha ha... Yeah,
that's how you use those words..." he chuckled, rubbing her on the back. Looking around, Chris could see other guests
suddenly hugging their Pokemon, giving them sentimental speeches as well as random couples cuddled and swooned over
one another. "Ha ha... Seems we set the stage for some heavy bonding type stuff..." he told Kirlia, carrying her back
to the table and picking up Servine in his other arm.

"You two... I could never ask for better friends... For better companions to journey with... Thanks..." he chuckled,
hugging them together against him and rubbing their cheeks together. "Come on... Lets dance together this time and
head back to the hotel. Its been a long day..." he chuckled, the two nodding as they held themselves close to him,
cooing and sighing as he danced them into a world of joy... Of peace and security... A world where all they had been
missing was now right there, holding them and giving them equally all the attention he could...
